Project Description
Pirate Area, masterplanning and design
Djurs Sommerland, 2017
The partnership with Djurs Sommerland, a theme park located in Denmark, started back in 2014 with a multiple year master plan for the complete park. The master plan focused on the optimalization for guests, from the overall experience in terms of visitor flow all the way to the themes of the areas. Since then, a many steps of the master plan have been realised, including the development of the Wild Asia, Bondesgardsland, and the Pirate area. For this area Leisure Expert Group designed and developed a new attraction and a new restaurant.

Søulken
Søulken is the new attraction that has been added to the area, completely in line with the area’s theme. Guests can step aboard on a seaship to see if they have sea legs to become a real pirate. For the development of this attraction, we have been responsible for the design all the way up to the art-direction.
The pirates restaurant
As in line with the theme, this new restaurant is not an ordinary restraurant, but a pirates restaurant. The building of the restaurant has been taken over, which is now equipted with look-out platforms, cannons, a mermaid figure other items the pirates have brought it. Also in this project, we have been responsible for the complete process, from design to art-direction.
