Project Description
Wild Asia, masterplanning
Djurs Sommerland
The partnership with Djurs Sommerland, a theme park located in Denmark, started back in 2014 with a multiple year master plan for the complete park. The master plan focused on the optimalization of guest experience in terms of visitor flow all the way to themed areas. Over the years, we developed different elements of the masterplanning starting with Bondegardsland, a new ride for the Pirates area, a revamp of the Wild West Area and our latest big project the Wild Asia area. At Wild Asia guests can be immersed into a place full of myths and legends hidden deep down in the wild Jungle of Asia. From the Long Cun village, the center-point of the area, guests can explore hidden secrets as dragons and lost temples. This major project has been divided into different phases; the main attraction Dragekongen in 2017, the Jungle Rally and Safaribussen in 2018, and Tigeren in 2019.

Tigeren at Djurs Sommerland
The latest expansion of Wild Asia in 2019 was “Tigeren”, a fierce Intamin Gyro Swing. As the name suggests, Tigeren is themed around the powerful movements of a Tiger. These mighty animals, living in the Asian jungles, are often depicted on shrines and temples. We have designed this ride based on this phenomenon and dare the guests of Djurs Sommerland to experience the powers of these amazing creatures in the adrenalin pumping ride. With this attraction the master plan of Wild Asia is complete.
The Safaribussen and Jungle Rally at Djurs Sommerland
The second phase of the master plan was the addition of two new attractions: Safaribussen and Jungle Rally. Both of these attractions fit into the area with the overall Asian theme and focus mainly on the little-ones visiting the park. This addition was made in 2018 and fits perfect in-between the two bigger attractions, making one cohesive area.
The Dragekongen coaster at Djurs Sommerland
The first phase of the Wild Asia development was the suspended family coaster Dragekongen. Throughout this ride guests are invited into the temple to face not only the dragon that is guarding it, but also their fears in the exciting coaster. In the development of the coaster, we were not only responsible for the design, but also for the audio and light integration supporting the theming.
