Project Description
EDC: Kinetic Love, Stage Design
Insomniac Events, 2018
For the fifth consecutive year we have been responsible for the EDC Mainstage design, which like every year tells a unique story. Together with Insomniacs’ team, the theme of this year, Kinetic Love, was created. This story was was translated into the stage design with two giant 30 meter (90ft) high statues sharing one heart. The aim of this stage was to offer a safe and sacred space where life should be celebrated together. At first this stage would premiere in Las Vegas, followed by the EDC edition in Mexico and lastly in Florida.

3D renders
It is very interesting to see the stage designs evolve throughout the years, as technology has evolved as well. We can now fully render a stage design in 3D before even a single panel has been produced. When you are working on a stage that is more than 100 meters wide, this new technology helps to understand the sheer size of the stage.
Time Code shows
We produced a number of different time code shows in addition to all the video content, including the spectacular opening ceremony, five different intermezzo shows, as well as the final show. These shows were all devised and programmed beforehand, making sure all the different effects, such as light, video content, fire, pyro, water and laser were perfectly timed, literally to the millisecond.
