After 28 years, the Eagle disappeared from Attractiepark Slagharen. We were trusted to develop the concept and design for the queue experience of its replacement attraction, including the installation and production of the thematic elements for the queue-line of the 30-metre-tall Sky Sifter.

The Sheriff has become completely obsessed with gold. For that reason, he had a machine built along the riverbank; determined to dig deeper, break harder, and extract every shimmering piece of gold from the water. His ultimate and greatest creation now towers above the creek: Sky Sifter. According to legend, the machine can pull gold and silver straight from the riverbed. But sometimes the pressure builds so high that Sky Sifter spins completely out of control..

For this attraction, we designed two separate queues that lead to two unique ride experiences within a single attraction. Guests can choose their own intensity: will they go for gold, or silver?

Within this project, we aimed to reflect the strong Western theming of the nearby Gold Rush, ensuring that, despite being brand new, the attraction would seamlessly fit within the identity of Slagharen.

In our design, we wanted to create an environment that feels dynamic, just like the ride itself. This was achieved through timber construction, moving elements in the portal shaped like a stamp mill, flowing and splashing water to enhance the sifting process, and the reuse of materials — such as a crane sourced from a sister park of Parques Reunidos. Through this approach, we always aim to bring stories to life in the most efficient, effective, and creative way possible.
